The Brewer's Log
March Brewhouse Happenings
| Mar 1, 2010 |
There’s been a lot going in the brewery and cellar lately. For those of you who have been living under a rock for the past month or so, the first batch of 21st Amendment Ale is online, and a second batch is aging comfortably in Templeton Rye barrels down in the cellar right now. These barrels weren't quite as fresh as we’ve gotten in the past, so the beer has required a little more aging time, but it’s still tasting pretty damn good!
Infatuation has come and gone already, but will be back in the spring, possibly with a limited bottling available as well. Stay tuned to the website for more on that in the near future.
We’re getting ready to brew the first round of Iowa Oaks Ale here real soon and should have it ready in time for opening day at the ball park.
Wicked Big Stout just came online, and we’re pouring it on a nitro faucet this year. Micah (my assistant) and I made some Black 'n Tans with Wicked Big Stout and Dorchester Amber that were quite tasty! Speaking of Dorchester Amber, it’s ready to go and will be online as soon as the Smokey Porter sells out. Be on the lookout for a new and improved Bainbridge St. Porter next year that will feature the addition of smoked malt and an improved hop bill.
Time to get back to the cellar. Keep checking in to stay on top of all the brewery happenings!
Cheers,
Mike G.
